Filming on the street in Madrid: which permit you need
If the video is shot on a street, in a park or in a public garden in the city of Madrid, the City Council requires one of these two procedures. Inside an office, you need neither.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a corporate video cost in Madrid?
It depends on the number of shoot days, whether it needs animation or 3D, the length, voice-over and music, and how many versions you need. One Madrid cost people often forget: if the shoot takes up street space, the 2026 municipal fee is €48.65 plus €0.58 per metre per day; a small shoot that doesn’t occupy the street pays nothing. Send us a brief and we’ll prepare a proposal with a quote.
How long does a corporate video take?
It depends mostly on pre-production and the shoot. If you’re filming on the street and taking up space, add the notice the municipal permit requires: 7 working days, or 15 in parks and gardens and in the Centro and Salamanca districts. If you have a fixed date, such as an event or a launch, that comes first and we plan backwards from it.
Do you need a permit to film on the street in Madrid?
Yes, to film on public streets, parks and gardens in the city. If the crew is 15 people or fewer, uses no electrical equipment and doesn’t block anyone’s way, a prior notice (acto comunicado) is enough: it’s free and has no deadline. Otherwise you need a public space permit, filed 7 working days in advance and subject to a fee. Madrid Film Office gives guidance but doesn’t grant permits.
Can you film at our office?
Yes, and it’s the most common setting for a corporate video. The City Council procedures cover streets, parks and gardens: inside an office, you only need the company’s permission and, if it doesn’t own the building, the owner’s. What does need organising is the day itself, so nobody’s work is interrupted.
Can you film on the Metro or at Comunidad de Madrid venues?
Yes, but not with the City Council permit: the Metro and the venues run by the regional government (Comunidad de Madrid) each have their own procedure, which you request from each of them. Madrid Film Office can help you work out who to ask.
Do you make corporate videos without filming?
Yes. With motion graphics or 2D or 3D animation, you can make an entire corporate video without a camera: no shoot day to coordinate, no permits to request, and it’s easier to update. That’s what we did in Retos para ahorrar for Fundación Mapfre. You can also mix the two: film the people and animate what can’t be seen.
Motion graphics and 2D animationCan a corporate video be made with AI?
Partly. Generative AI is useful for creating or transforming images that can’t be filmed, backgrounds or assets, and for saving time in pre-production. What still needs a camera is showing your real team, your facilities and your product. Anything generated goes through the same art direction, editing and post-production as the rest of the video.

Yes. We film across the Madrid region, as we did at Iberdrola’s offices in San Agustín de Guadalix, and throughout Spain: for the same project we also filmed in Bilbao and Valencia. The studio is in Madrid, but our shoots go wherever the story is.
